Meet Our Board
Vann Michael Millhouse earned the Master of Arts from Loyola University in Spiritual and Pastoral Care (2018), and Bachelorette of Social Work from Morgan State University (1995). He is a staunch advocate for marginalized communities. His work with mental health and addiction recovery communities, parents and children managing developmental delays, and sexual and gender identity minorities in Baltimore City spans over 25 years. The imprint of his work with the Johns Hopkins Bayview Center for Addiction and Pregnancy, the Baltimore City Healthy Start Program, the former Good Shepherd Center. As Founder and CEO of Element of Hope Vann Michael strengthens the well-being and sustainability of marginalized people by cultivating resilient, cohesive communities where every member thrives with dignity, solidarity, and access to resources needed for optimal physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Meet Br. Merrick Moses, an Old Catholic priest and Benedictine monk driven by faith to pursue justice and compassion. Devoted to supporting the transgender community in Baltimore, he addresses their needs, provides resources, and amplifies their voices in religious spaces. Br. Roxanne Storm

Roxanne has been a long standing member of Hearts and Ears since 1999 when the center was first founded. Roxanne serves as the board liaison, being a bridge of communication between the members of the center and the Board. She has been a long time activist and advocate for Transgender rights and Mental Health Awareness. She is also a local musician/guitarist.

We are in our 27th year serving our community and we are currently looking for consumers of behavioral health services, people who work in mental health and substance use recovery, and people who care about the LGBTQIA+ community to join our board.
