      Hearts & Ears facilitates peer support groups for GLBTQ people with mental health issues or concerns. Groups are safe and confidential, and provide an environment where participants can network and get support. Topics addressed include family issues, coming out issues, interpersonal relationships, managing symptoms of mental illness, and work related issues.

    • Skills
      Ability to empathize, facilitate groups, and a strong desire to help others recognize their strengths and feel good about themselves. Must be responsible and dependable.

    • Time commitment
      2 hours per week

  • Drop In Center volunteer

    • Description
      We have opportunities for GLBTQ individuals to assist our Program Director with support and educational activities at our Drop In Center, and to help with special projects. Local residents only.

    • Skills
      Honesty, good communication skills, willingness to work with individuals and groups.

    • Time commitment
      4 hours per week

  • Fundraising volunteers

      We are seeking individuals with fundraising experience to assist us with all aspects of fundraising for our organization. Local residents only.

      An opportunity for non-GLBTQ volunteers to assist us with community relations, special projects, and fundraising in the community. Local residents only please.

      A commitment to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender mental health issues, experience with community relations, advertising, and fundraising.

      6 hours per month

  • Students with Heart volunteers

    • Description
      We are seeking GLBTQ COLLEGE AGE students from surrounding colleges and universities in the Baltimore Metro area to organize a Student volunteer group (Students with Heart ) to assist our Drop In Center Program Director with activities and special projects. Local residents only please.

      Outgoing, GLBTQ-identified, responsible, social, interested in GLBTQ mental health and recovery issues.

    • Time commitment
      6 hours per month
